Sunlight filters through the leaves of massive trees, sending a cascade of shifting speckles of light on the rich dirt below like the glittering backs of a thousand beetles. Leafy vines clothe the thick trunks in an emerald dress as bright orange and pink flowers dot the shrubs and ferns like jewelry. In the distance, a pristine creek winds behind the trees like a delicate chain of silver.

The buzz of insects weaves through the whisper of leaves gently moving in the soft wind. A song bird calls out a quick little ditty in the branches of a proud oak, calling for a mate. Nothing jarring or manmade disturbs the peace of this place, only the hush of the ancient forest, as if listening.

The air is thick with sweet, heady floral scents, tinged with something nearly fermented. It mingles with green, sap, loam. The path ahead winds gently, lined with waving ferns and low blooms.

It is calm. It is welcoming.
