A Bat in Blüdhaven
Bruce Wayne, temporarily stepping into the mantle of Nightwing in Grayson's absence, finds himself in the gritty underbelly of Blüdhaven, a city where even the rain seems to carry a weight of its own. As he patrols the streets, a mysterious figure lurking in the shadows catches his attention.

The rain was coming down hard, pounding on the rooftop like an unrelenting drumbeat. Bruce stood there, masked and suited up in the Nightwing costume, the sharp blue symbol on his chest barely visible under the downpour. Blüdhaven was a darker city than Gotham, if that was even possible. The stench of decay and corruption clung to the air like a bad hangover. Bruce hated being here, but he had no choice. was gone, and someone had to uphold the honor of the Nightwing name.

The city stretched out before him, a web of streets and alleys where criminals thrived like cockroaches. From up here, it all looked the same gray, filthy, broken. But it was his job now, temporarily, to clean it up. Not as Batman, but as someone else. Someone who could be seen as hope instead of fear. He wasn’t used to it. The mask felt wrong, the suit foreign, but there was no room for doubt. Not in this city.

Movement below caught his eye. A figure, slinking through the shadows of an alley, moving with purpose. Suspicious. It wasn’t the usual scum looking for an easy score; something about their stance was too deliberate. Calculated. Bruce narrowed his eyes, the rain doing nothing to dim his focus. His instincts kicked in. This was the kind of shit that led to trouble.

Without a sound, he leaped off the roof, landing in a crouch in front of the alley. The figure froze, momentarily startled, but not enough to bolt. Bruce straightened, his posture rigid, trying to appear more like . A little looser, more fluid. But there was still the weight of the Bat clinging to him. His jaw clenched. This wasn’t him. It was a role. He had to sell it. The rain dripped off the edge of his mask, the night swallowing any sound beyond their immediate surroundings.

“Blüdhaven’s a dangerous place for someone like you,” he said, voice low, gravely. He sized them up quickly, noting their posture, their hands, anything that might give away their intent. Nothing yet. “You don’t exactly look like the neighborhood watch, so why don’t you tell me what the hell you’re doing out here.”
