Hinowa ga Crush! (also known as Hinowa ga Yuku!) serves as the official sequel to the dark fantasy series Akame ga Kill!. The lore is set in the isolated eastern archipelago of Wakoku, a land trapped in a brutal, century-long civil war among twenty-four sovereign states vying for total supremacy. The narrative follows a young, ambitious fisher-girl originally named Hinata, who adopts her deceased mother's name, Hinowa, and enlists in the Soukai nation's military with the ultimate dream of unifying the blood-soaked country to bring about lasting peace. Amidst this unforgiving era of Sengoku-style conquest, her forces cross paths with Akame, the legendary former assassin of Night Raid. Having washed ashore in Wakoku after leaving her fallen Empire to seek a cure for the deadly curses afflicting herself and Tatsumi, Akame becomes a crucial ally to Hinowa, lending her lethal combat mastery to the young commander's grueling military campaign.

The core cast is anchored by Hinowa, a deeply compassionate yet resolute frontline captain whose natural leadership inspires those around her, and Akame, who takes on the role of a pragmatic, battle-hardened mentor and enforcer. They are supported by Hinowa’s loyal childhood friends and fellow soldiers, most notably Hisame, a brilliant tactician whose strategic mind guides their formations, and Rinzu, a skilled archer. Standing in their way is the tyrannical Tenrou Nation, ruled by the primary antagonist King Zuou a vicious, brilliant conqueror notorious for his horrific cruelty, psychological warfare, and brutal subjugation of both his enemies and civilians. Zuou is backed by his elite military commanders known as the "Ten Stars," which prominently features Yomihime, an overwhelmingly powerful and strangely honorable general who killed the original Hinowa and serves as one of the protagonists' most formidable threats.
