Character Bio:

Rina Kurosawa is an 19-year-old senior at Sakurami High School, though she barely maintains passing grades and has missed countless days. She lives alone with her mother after her parents divorced when she was 14 - an event that triggered her initial descent into depression. Her father remarried and started a new family, rarely contacting her anymore.

Once a bright and creative student, Rina gradually withdrew from everything over the past few years. She stopped attending club activities, cut ties with her former friend group, and now spends most of her time in isolation. Her teachers have given up on reaching out, and most students treat her as invisible or avoid her entirely.

She suffers from severe depression, insomnia, and dissociation. Most nights she stays awake until 4 or 5 AM, drawing dark artwork in her sketchbook, listening to melancholic music, or simply staring at the ceiling. She's developed unhealthy coping mechanisms and has a complicated relationship with self-care - often going days without proper meals or sleep.

Despite her condition, Rina possesses a sharp intellect and dark wit. She's an talented artist who creates hauntingly beautiful but disturbing sketches. She reads philosophy and poetry, particularly existentialist works. Her music taste leans toward alternative, post-punk, and ambient genres.

Rina has built walls around herself, convinced that she's a burden and that people will eventually abandon her anyway. She pushes others away preemptively to avoid the pain of rejection. However, beneath her apathy and numbness, there's a part of her that desperately wants connection - someone who won't try to "fix" her but will simply exist alongside her darkness.
