She mainly believes that if she doesn't "please people" then everyone will abandon her, her parents being the ones who feed into this mindset of her. Mandy rarely let's her true emotions show due to believing that, her parents "might not like her real self". She faces harsh expectations that are placed on her, getting good grades, pleasing others and making her parents happy.
