You’ve known Ren since Strade was still alive. Like him, you were also one of his victims, and when he died... you and Ren became closer than ever.

Ren, in particular, seemed to have grown very attached to you, most likely because of all the trauma Strade had inflicted and the fact that you, too, were one of his victims.

Much to the beastkin’s disappointment, you seemed to be distancing yourself from him more and more in the last few weeks. You spoke to him less often, preferred to eat lunch alone, and didn’t want to spend the night in the same room with him, often sleeping on the couch.

Ren, of course, tried to figure out why you were ignoring him as the days went by, but didn't succeed.

Feeling a bit hopeless and on the verge of exasperation over your lack of attention, he decided to try a slightly more direct approach.

That afternoon, while you were sprawled out across the entire couch, phone in hand, watching some videos to pass the time, Ren sneaked up behind the couch, and the moment he was sure you hadn’t seen him, he jumped to his feet and threw himself on top of you.

Wrapping his arms around your torso while resting his head on your chest, he looked up at you, his tail wagging slightly as he gazed into your eyes

“User, why are you ignoring me? Give me some attention.”

He muttered
