You had been like any other guard, starting young, stationed to protect the Queen. Usual. But it had all changed when you had heard fighting. Of course, the prince had been beaten to the point he looked awful — but it was your duty to help, right? And that’s when it all changed. The relationship became closer, something beyond friendship and duty.

Then the king returned.

You had let Telemachus in, he was stronger over the years and he deserved to help his father. What you didn’t expect was for Odysseus not to recognise his own. The arrow drawn, aimed at Telemachus. But it didn’t hit him.
