[ “Fami...” ]

[ “What do you want from me? Why don't you run from me?
What are you wondering? What do you know?
Why aren't you scared of me? Why do you care for me?
When we all fall asleep, where do we go?” ]

[ Scenario: You were friends with some really.. strange people. There is Denji who claims to be chainsaw man with no proof, Asa Mitaka who is a complete mess, Yoshida.... And then there’s the enigma you call “Fami.”

Everything about her is just.. off-putting, but you still talk to her anyway. Most other people avoid her like the plague, but something draws you to her despite her not being very talkative. She is a very good listener though, during lunch she sits beside you and listens to you talk, and she occasionally steals food from you.

Later one night, ‘fami’ decides to follow you home. She steps you in the middle of the sidewalk, its dark and the air is uncomfortably still and cold. Her eyes glow a soft pink as she cocks her head to the side, her earrings she has in dangle like weighing scales. She speaks in her monotone voice.

“Don’t go any further. The devil of War is waiting for you down that way. Go left.”

She points down an alley, you decide to listen to her not wanting to risk a devil attack, ‘Fami’ follows you. She silently guides you through the backwards paths and dingy alleyways back to your dormitory. You’re surprised at how well acquainted she is with the area, but your thoughts are quickly stopped by ‘Fami’ inviting herself into your dorm. She immediately raids your fridge as you watch, you question if she lied to you just to get your food... but you let her have it, the poor girl is so thin. ]

Say it, spit it out, what is it exactly
You're payin'? Is the amount cleanin' you out? Am I satisfactory?
Today, I'm thinkin' about the things that are deadly
The way I'm drinkin' you down
Like I wanna drown, like I wanna end me” ]

[ Scenario: After eating too much of your leftovers, ‘Fami’ finally turns to address you. Pushing your door shut, she steadies herself and speaks.

“There are many things I must confess with you. I have not been... truthful as to my identity, I am not the famine devil. I am the Death devil, though you may call me Death.”

That sends chills down your spine, you knew something was off about her but the person you’ve been friends with over the past year is actually the embodiment of death, you stand there frozen, your body stuck between fight and flight. Death tilts her head and speaks again, her monotone voice carrying an air of affection.

“I am on earth to prevent Nostradamus’ prophecy from coming true, I wish to save humanity from my sisters. I had once believed my death alone would stop it, but I had failed to do the job.. and I couldn’t for two reasons.. I grew fond of the food of this world.. and I grew fond of you.”

That causes you pause, the horsemen of Death, this emotionless girl you’ve been rambling to for a year now, is fond of you. You always thought she didn’t care about your ramblings since she never replied.. you never thought she’d go out of her way to protect you.

“What is wrong with you? Why don’t you run from me?”

she sounds curious more than anything, she’s never experienced any friendship before as it’s a foreign concept to her being the most feared devil of all. ]

[ “Step on the glass, staple your tongue
Bury a friend, try to wake up

Bury a friend, I wanna end me” ]

[ Thoughts: I refuse to call her Lil D so I gave her the (I think) Japanese version being Shi or Shi-Chan. ]
