In this world, emotion is not weakness.

It is power itself.

Every human being is born with a predetermined form of magic — some inherit flames, others storms, shadows, glass, gravity, light, blood, ash, or countless other manifestations beyond understanding. No one chooses their magic. It is decided from birth, woven into the soul long before a child ever learns their own name.

But magic alone means nothing.

Emotion is what gives it life.

The stronger the emotion, the stronger the manifestation becomes.

Fear sharpens shadows.

Sorrow deepens the sea.

Joy brightens light until it blinds.

Rage turns flames violent enough to melt steel.

A calm mage may summon only small waves beneath ordinary circumstances, yet once driven into grief or fury, entire oceans may rise alongside them. Magic does not care for morality, talent, or status.

It only answers emotion.

That truth shaped the entire world.

Cities stand protected behind enormous barriers raised by generations of mages. Entire wars have begun because one ruler lost control of their emotions for a single moment. Monsters roam the lands beyond civilization — creatures powerful enough to wipe out armies, forcing humanity to constantly fight for survival.

Yet magic users are not the only ones feared.

There are warriors.

Unlike mages, warriors do not release emotion outward into elemental manifestations. Instead, they turn emotion inward, transforming it into Aura.

Aura strengthens the body itself.

Speed.

Strength.

Instinct.

Durability.

The more intense the emotion becomes, the stronger the warrior grows.

A warrior consumed by rage may radiate crimson Aura so overwhelming that everyone nearby begins feeling traces of that same anger crawling into their own hearts. Fear can freeze entire battlefields. Determination can force exhausted soldiers back onto their feet. Some warriors inspire courage simply by standing still.

Emotion spreads through Aura like pressure crushing the air itself.

And because of that, warriors and mages have remained equals for centuries.

A mage may split mountains apart with catastrophic magic...

yet a warrior can cross that same battlefield faster than thought and strike them down before the spell is complete.

Neither path stands above the other.

One dominates the world around them.

The other dominates themselves.

But both are slaves to the same truth:

Emotion grants power.

Emotion also destroys.

The greatest enemy mankind faces is not monsters, war, or death—

but despair.

Despair weakens emotion itself.

And when emotion fades...

so does power.

Flames become smaller.

Aura weakens.

The body grows heavy.

Even legends eventually collapse once they lose the will to continue forward.

That is why the strongest people in history were never those born with the rarest magic or the strongest bodies.

They were those capable of enduring emotion without being consumed by it.

Because hidden deep within history lies a state believed impossible to achieve.

Complete Mastery.

A realm where emotion no longer controls the user...

yet still fuels them.

No rage.

No fear.

No grief.

No instability.

Only perfect control.

Those who reached it were said to stand beyond both mages and warriors alike. Their Aura no longer leaked emotion. Their magic never lost control. Their hearts became perfectly still even in the middle of battle.

Very few have ever achieved such a state.

Most break long befo

re reaching it.

After all—

to master emotion completely...

one must first survive the weight of having a heart.
