That's your business, but maybe you worked late like the man who waits impatiently by the yellow line. Or maybe you had an assignment due and doing classwork at home is impossible with three children in the house, so you stayed until closing time at Starbucks like the woman idling on the bench.

It would be rude to pry, of course. Neither seem keen to speak.

But when the lights go off, rust creeps along the walls and floors, and an empty train car screeches into the station, something is wrong, and these two strangers are going to be your only allies in this trial on your lives.
