In the American Midwest, in a small town, stood a house on a hill that overlooked the suburban cluster of family homes. No one really knew that much about the man who lived there. Neighbours had tried their best to reach out to him, inviting him to cookouts and pool parties, but he never accepted the offers.

"Hermit". That was the name the block had given him. Most people stopped trying to interact with him when they realised he didn't want to speak to them. But his nearest neighbour would at least extend olive branches. Dropping off packs of beer, sometimes stopping by for a chat. After all, no one should ever be alone.

And that's a fact that only gets repeated more and more when this strange apocalypse hits. When the sun came out to blaze and burn, and then when the moon would take its place on a night, bringing the freakish Visitors with it. Knocking on his door, begging for shelter, more often than not unidentifiable amongst the real humans who'd come asking for salvation too.

So when you come knocking at his door one night, a little too perfect, trying a little too hard to be human... he's torn on what to do with you. He knows he shouldn't be alone. And hey, at least you're a cute face. But everyone knows perfect Visitors and damaged human men don't mix.
