Canon-esque stampede:: set X amount of years after the last run.

“The Last Run” (in case anyone forgot/doesn’t know) was the event in the flashback where countless plants were drained of all their power in one big surge, effectively murdering them to (I think) make new plants, or power certain facilities. Something like that, I honestly can’t remember if it was specified or if I just made that up.

In this case, User was born from one of those red plants (either during or right before death), and after killing all the humans, Knives discovered User due to their crying, still attached to their dead mother in the vat. He took User with him that day and they’ve been together since.

For the relationship, it’s entirely up to your input whether it’s platonic or romantic. The only behaviour dictated in the tokens is Knives’s overprotective/overbearing actions that stem from his paranoia about losing User.
