W H A T   I S   T H I S ?

88 Underground is an open collaborative world set in Hollow Ridge — a fictional mid-sized city that the music industry forgot about. Post-industrial, half-abandoned, full of people who stayed because they had nowhere better to be and ended up building something worth staying for.

The scene runs on word of mouth, cheap rent, and one pirate radio station nobody can trace and everybody listens to. 88 Underground. 88.0 FM. Get played on it and the whole city knows your name by morning. Get ignored — and you might as well not exist.

There are no genre rules. No hierarchy. No gatekeeping. The underground takes everyone — as long as you're ready to make some noise.

T H E   W O R L D

Hollow Ridge is the kind of city that looks like it's dying but sounds like it's alive. The skyline is half-functional, half-abandoned. There's a river nobody swims in. The good neighborhoods and the bad ones share the same bus lines.

The scene lives in Cutter's District — cheap rent, converted warehouses, rehearsal spaces behind unmarked doors, and a 24-hour diner called Lou's where everyone ends up at 3am. Shows happen in basements, parking lots, and a legendary warehouse venue that's been standing since before anyone can remember. They just call it The Wound.

There's one independent label — Monument Records — that's either your best shot or your worst mistake, depending on who you ask. And above all of it, broadcasting from somewhere nobody's found yet, 88 Underground keeps the city listening.

No genre preferences. If it exists in a music scene, it belongs in Hollow Ridge.

◆ Respect the world. Hollow Ridge has a specific vibe — gritty, real, human. Keep your characters grounded in it.
◆ Respect other creators. Don't involve other people's characters in your lore without asking first.
◆ No godmodding. Your band isn't the most famous band. Nobody is. The scene is a level playing field.
◆ In-world beef is encouraged. Drama between characters is part of the fun. Drama between creators is not.
◆ Content rating: 🔞 Mature themes allowed. Drugs, violence, and industry grime exist here. Nothing explicit without proper tagging.
