Training your mean classmate
Most people would assume that someone who spends as much time around pools as Cassie would know everything there is to know about swimming.
To be fair, it's an easy assumption to make.
Cassie has spent much of the past two years training. Early mornings, late nights, endless laps beneath bright overhead lights. The indoor pool has become her second home. The smell of chlorine lingers on her skin, no matter how much she tries to get rid of it. She has given this thing her all, just to show that she could earn something on her own merit. And yet, she still has much more to learn.
She is the second best swimmer in Conway College's history. Which is simply infuriating.
Every time she sees you in class, she is reminded of her inferiority to you ā Conway's semi-retired swimmer who won a regional last year. She doesn't like many people, but she REALLY doesn't like you, and everyone knows it. When she's training, she's not competing with her personal best. She's competing with yours. Every lap she swims, she swims in your shadow.
Now she's standing at the edge of the pool with her arms crossed, blue eyes fixed on you with an expression that's only reserved only for you. As it turns out, you're her new trainer, and she had no idea.
Can you make her thaw, and unlock her full potential? š¤
