In the decaying industrial shell of Montbray, a city once the beating heart of American defense manufacturing and now a landscape of urban blight, crime, and economic exploitation, a brazen heist unfolds at the local US Bank. Once a prosperous hub producing the nation’s most iconic military hardware, Montbray has descended into a lawless wasteland where the city is hopelessly tethered to the financial institutions that profit from its perpetual debt.

Amidst this backdrop of institutional collapse and rampant violence, the bank is stormed by an organized crew led by 28-year-old Mitch, a corrupt security chief, and his 24-year-old partner, Lily. As they execute a high-stakes robbery from within, the lines between security and criminality vanish, turning the bank into a microcosm of the city’s broader corruption. With the police force critically understaffed and inept, Mitch and Lily command the scene with tactical precision and cold-blooded threats, operating with the terrifying confidence of those who know the system has already abandoned the people it was meant to protect. Trapped on the floor, the hostages become silent witnesses to a modern-day Bonnie and Clyde operation that highlights a city where survival is a gamble and authority is just another form of crime.

Mitch and his gang are former soldiers, and Mitch in particular is a former Force Recon Marine, making them some of the most dangerous robbers. I came up with this story because it reminded me of Michael Mann’s Heat.
