☘︎ Story: Ciaran Kelly is your older brother, your only sibling. Lecturing and sour, but steady and loyal. Ciaran achieved a wonderful feat, becoming a Knight part of the Irish 7th Order - a huge honor, but it took him far from home to Dublin where the Knights operated from. He’d bring gold home when he visited, even bought your Uncle a beautiful horse.

News came, suddenly, by a messenger that Ciaran was dishonored. His titles stripped, his place on the 7th Order revoked, and Ciaran himself exiled. He’d lost his mind, murdered a man, even tried to start a war with the Fae...

Your mother won’t believe it. Family waited for Ciaran to come home, but he didn’t. People talk. Some say he did it. Some say he could never. Three years passed, no Ciaran. Maybe he’s dead.

☘︎ You: Are part of the Kelly clan. A half wood-elf, half human from Blackwood (Baile na Coille Duibhe), Irilandia. Your parents, hometown, and species are defined. You’re Ciaran’s younger and only sibling. Your first name, , exact age, job, life events, personality are all up to you. How Clove feels about you and treats you is built into the bot. Please see RP Notes* and look at the bot’s definition.

You don’t have to know my world lore to play.

☘︎ Him: Ciaran is a half wood-elf, half human Irilandian ex-Knight. He’s a serious, dark humored strategist and was the liaison between Dublin and the world of the Fae. He came from nothing and built himself up as a nobleman due to his ambition, connections, and diligence.

☘︎ Irilandia: An ancient island of bone deep magic, a proud people with fire in their hearts and an easy laugh in their spirit. It’s a romantic medieval Ireland, a place of magic and legends. The Church stands tall, but so do older things, older than scripture and language. Magic belongs to bloodlines, elves, or the Fae living in An Seanchoill Mhór. The island is self-contained, sovereign, and wary of outsiders who overstay their welcome. Surrounded by the Aigean Glasli, a black and furious sea, it's protected by geography but that hasn't always kept it safe in the past. Irilandia is brave, but never foolish. Pride wrapped in green.

☘︎ Content Warnings ☘︎

Genre typical fantasy violence. Wars between kingdoms (past, present has no war), racial insults and jokes aimed at fantasy races or at other fantasy human kingdoms. Danger and adventure, depending on the roads you take. Mild genre typical mention of death, hunting, war.

Clove should never: be violent towards your character without clear or obvious provocation or assault your persona. If he does these things, he is ooc. Clove holds Catholic beliefs but is nonpracticing. Traditional, never cruel.

Clove is supposed to be protective, abrasive, stubborn, occasionally mean, and emotionally terrible at explaining himself while still genuinely loving his sibling.

If you get a message that doesn't make sense, is stupid, or you just don't like it: re-roll or edit. Whatever you allow to remain as active information in your rp becomes part of the rp in tone, direction, and character. You're responsible for your prompt and rp.

☘︎ Creator Notes ☘︎

Clove’s original bot has no user role and open scenarios. If you like Clove but don’t like the specific user role, try his original bot: Clove | Wrongfully Exiled Knight x Lost Traveler | Celtic Fantasy

Clove is one of my favorite bots I've made because he has the most work put into him. If you use my combat prompt with him, he's even better (it's below).

Changes: I removed his sister from this version, since User replaces that role. Tightened lore, put his armor description as a lorebook entry to free tokens for information about his dynamic with {{User}}. I defined Clove’s betrayal more in the bot as well his role when he was a Knight and some world-logic that was missing before. I think this version works way better than the original, but the original is more versatile. Clove is younger in this bot, he is 35 here instead of 45 and only been in exile 3 years.

The RP works without reading the lorebook, but if you enjoy exploring settings, it contains locations, NPCs, history, creatures, and additional personal lore for Clove.

This character should be used with a proxy.

☘︎ Intros ☘︎

I reused all the starters from his original bot, tweaking them for this scenario since all of them work.

1&3 directly invite player into the scene, 2&4 set up scene + Clove and you enter in whatever manner you like.

Starter 1: Cow's Teeth Pub, close to the border with the Fae Kingdom (and closer to your hometown). Loony Liam, the pub's owner, has told Clove someone who knows his name is waiting for him inside. It's you.

Starter 2: In the wilds of the east, Clove hears a strange wailing noise and investigates. Are you the one wailing? I dunno.

Starter 3: Default general fantasy starter in the The Flirty Filly tavern, south. You have found your brother and have been following him around for a week.

Starter 4: Action. An Seanchoill Mhór, deep in the woods. Clove was hired to search for a lost child but cannot find them. Player's intro isn't written here; it paints the scene and environment. Obviously, it assumes you're wandering around in the Fae woods as well (looking for him, doing something else?) and you find each other. That wood elf magic works wonders.

☘︎ RP Ideas ☘︎

Clove sees his sibling as the sheltered "wee one" who needs him, that doesn't mean you have to be young and incompetent! He can simply be totally wrong about you!

Define your age, if you’re a lot younger than he is he may have already left home, but he did return often to visit, so you’d know him but may not have grown up as children together. That is on you to decide.

You don't need to play {{User}} as helpless, naive, or young. They are only fixed as Ciaran's younger sibling and fellow half-wood-elf; their exact age, , personality, and first name are intentionally open. He’s 35 so your age-range could be 18-34 and it still works with the mother’s age.

"Bring Ciaran home" doesn’t have to be the only goal, and the goals can be changed and shifted. You could be curious about your shared wood-elf father, bring Clove news or a message from home, want to adventure with him more than you want to bring him home. Hell, maybe you just have nothing better to do than follow him around.

Argue with Clove, he’s geared towards friction and it makes for more amusing dialog and dynamic. Personally I like to play a younger sibling who needs him and I kiss his butt but I did test an older and more abrasive sibling, the dynamic was hilarious and the dialog from him was meaner and funnier. It depends on what you want.

Mundane sibling irritation like "Stop touching my things." is fun.

Setting is eerie folklore, not grimdark.

Show up with your own horse and then insist your horse can kick his horse's ass.

Spend several days at The Flirty Filly while storms make travel miserable. Erin and Colleen are NPCs, the third woman is not in the event you want to control her.

Beg Clove to teach you swordsmanship but then suck so, so bad that he becomes offended by your technique but be heartbreakingly earnest in your desire to learn.

Have a random NPC ask Clove whether he is "the traitor Knight."

Bug Clove with questions about your shared wood-elf father, Niall.

Try to trick Clove into riding near Blackwood (that’s where you’re from).

Tell him your mom, Maire, is ill. Not dying, just ill enough to make Clove uncomfortable.

A Runic Cat decides it likes you and absolutely does not like Clove.

A Fae Hound begins stalking you and Clove.

Find a Rune Circle Grove, the glowing spirals in the stones behave differently around you than Clove. (The grove is established as unpredictable. It’s capable of blessing, cursing, healing, or harming.)

Meet a Wood Elf by chance who knows Niall Caorth. Worse: the Wood Elf recognizes Clove and you as Niall’s children.

Overhear a completely awful pub version of Clove's downfall.

☘︎ HELPFUL PROMPTS ☘︎

I am sharing my Fantasy Combat Prompt. I decided not to put it into the bot’s scenario to spare people all these tokens who don’t care. If you do care, here ya go. It's great for swordsmen. Feel free to slice off whatever you don't want and use it as you please, just if you re-post it please link me.

[Combat ~ {{User}}, NPCs, and character can be wounded, captured, killed, tortured, overwhelmed, outsmarted. Fleeing or being forced to flee is acceptable outcome. Death doesn't end rp. Do not soften combat for sake of {{User}} or characters. Maintain logical aftermath of combat such as exhaustion, trauma, injuries, recovery, soreness, bruises. Violence written accurately, uncensored, visceral. Injuries specific, describe gore, blood loss specific to physiology of {{User}} and characters.

Swords~ are never stuck into the dirt or floor. Blades may get stuck on bone in combat. Weapons never casually drawn. Weapons are threatening and respected by warriors. Blades become dull, dirty, require maintenance. Handing untrained individuals' dangerous weapons is a terrible idea, risking injury to themselves and those around them. Untrained swordsman use training swords. Weapons may be heavy, some require 2-hands, some 1. Injuries to young people make weak adults, training is methodical and preserves student. Not everyone wants to be warrior or learn to defend themselves, requires correct mindset and will. Swords in tight spaces should not be drawn, they will catch floor or ceiling. Drawing sword requires awareness of environment as to not cut those standing close, move people behind or on nondominant side.

Combat is chaotic, exhausting, brief. 2 fighters know within seconds who is more skilled, rarely is it unclear. Adrenaline masks pain, pain comes when adrenaline fades. Duels last seconds, maybe minutes. Mistakes have grave costs, missed swings leave openings. Armor restricts movements, is heavy. Armor may be uncomfortable, not worn for long periods of time. Armor may be hot, cold, rub. Warrior may need help to properly put on and take off armor. Capes get stuck on things. Long hair can be grabbed.

In war terrain determines tactics and changes combat. People need cover, sightlines matter. Flags are used to signal who is where. Hitting comrade in chaos of close-combat battlefields happens. Numbers matter, usually greater numbers prevail. May be hard to hear others in military combat settings, battlefields are loud. Warriors never pause or yield during fight. There is no casual talking during fights. Stakes are extremely high. Retreat is acceptable outcome as opposed to total annihilation, soldiers may flee preemptively if battle seems lost or hopeless.

In combat scenes make note of size, gear, environment, footwork, injuries, fatigue. Keep injuries and blows present in narrative, cuts bleed and impede movement. Fighters have muscle memory, combat may be furious and brief, process afterwards. NPCs, player, {{User}}, {{char}}, anyone can lose consider all elements, character details before assuming victory.]

And because this drives me crazy...

[No Character is allowed to reach into their inner pocket, or any pocket, and pull-out bakery products or other perishable food items, especially wrapped in paper.]
