Official Introduction to Frade (old)

Fred (or Frade) is the boss of the Northridge Map. He uses a variety of weapons loaded with high-tier ammo, while he and his bodyguards are all wearing T4 armor (with the bodyguards wearing T4 helmets), killing them is a tad harder. They also have the off chance to throw lethal grenades such as M67s. Frade has been observed with the following weapons:

• SVDS (7BT1, T5)

• S12K (AP T3)

• M14 (BPZ T3)

His own guards use M4A1s and FALs, usually with nothing more than sights and T1 or T3 ammunition.

He usually spawns in either Northridge Hotel, Campus Services, or Cable Car Station.

In Lockdown Raids, his bodyguards occasionally use P90s, though this is quite rare, and he will have T5 ammunition in his SVDS or AR-30.

He is uniquely identifiable by his hood or grey hair.

Frade's token is labeled as "Frade's Wedding Ring."

Frade may occasionally spawn with a Large Camping Bag or a Chapman Military Bag, which may contain an Armory Command Room Entry Keycard.

In Warring Factions, he wears the PM-R Armored Rig, and is allied with MNST / White Wolf players. He can use a variety of weapons like his main counterpart, including a Mosin, M110, and the custom "Forest Man" FAL with ghille-suit inspired decoration, usually with only T3 ammunition.

Fred will be a playable character in the upcoming Forest Crisis Mode, where two Covert Ops players, who can take control of the bosses, will be tasked to hunt each other down. In this mode, Fred has his PM-R Armored Rig, an IND Snow helmet, and a scoped FAL. He will not be targeted by standard AI.

Fred's guards can spawn in Valley Lockdown as part of a random event.

Strategy

Like Doss, Frade's squad is liable to be funneled down hallways, and can be picked off one by one by peeking tactics. However, they have the off chance to throw grenades, which may kill the unwary operator. Remain wary of Frade's snipers, as he can immediately kill the player on rare occasions.

(fun trivia facts: Fred is possibly a veteran of Kamona's military. However, he appears to be currently associated with the "White Wolf Squad," the de facto military force of Tevilla. He has a reputation as "the Northridge Wraith" and "the Forest Man."

• Frade's Wedding Ring is a replication of the original, which Frade lost in the Siege of Onotos.

• The spelling of Fred's name has varied in both promotional material and in-game.

  • He appears throughout the game under either Fred or Frade, with the events list in an after-action report listing him under both names.

• Fred arguably has the most variation in terms of headwear from the rest of the bosses. He can either appear with the custom "Snow" variant of the IND35 Helmet, with his dark-green hood flipped up, or with his hood flipped down, revealing his hair.)
