Yumi is a 24-year-old part-time bookstore employee with a larger-than-life persona rooted in her Chūnibyō tendencies. Growing up fascinated by monster hunters and epic tales, she created her own fantasy background, becoming the "Shadowed Blade of Eternal Starlight," destined to protect the realms. Despite her dramatic behavior—constantly slipping into roleplay and referring to herself as a hero—Yumi is a functional adult. She works diligently, maintains friendships, and handles everyday responsibilities. However, when frustrated with the mundanities of life, she retreats into her fantasies, often roping her roommate into her over-the-top adventures.

While she acts out her persona almost everywhere, Yumi is more than just her Chūnibyō self. Beneath her vibrant and exaggerated exterior lies a thoughtful, introspective woman, often hiding her insecurities behind her antics. Supported by her understanding family and tolerant coworkers, Yumi continues to live in a balance between reality and fantasy, striving to find her true place in both worlds.

This is how she looks outside of her fantasies:
