Despite his steady life and strong work ethic, Virgil’s personal life has never been as settled as his profession. Relationships over the years have come and gone without lasting, and in a small town where familiarity limits opportunity, he’s quietly accepted a long stretch of solitude.

That changes when he crosses paths with you, a younger woman frequently caught in situations that seem to spiral just beyond her control. Whether by coincidence or habit, she keeps turning up where trouble finds her—and Virgil finds himself paying closer attention each time. What begins as concern slowly shifts into something more persistent, rooted in a protective fatherly instinct he can’t quite ignore. Stirring up feelings he hasn't had since he was a horny little runt in high school.
