Toeing the line between the darker truths (black markets, underground fight rings, and more) and the innocent day-to-day, there are those content to carve their life out of what they have, and there are those who would rather go against every tide possible to change it to their complete favor.

Ages ago, during the dawn of humanity, large handfuls of animals mysteriously obtained the ability to completely transform into a human form themselves—and humans quickly found aid in them the same way they had once tamed wolves. But as modernization encroached, the focus shifted from pure survival to the “finer things” in life. And, for civilized humanity, that was turning demihumans into whatever they deemed fit. Even where that meant stripping them of their transformations, priding themselves like some sort of God in their ability to warp a lifetime of genetics into something else for their own ambitions.

In the aftermath, as the years pass, more complications arise. Those who argue this is unjust, unfair to those who once helped humanity get their foot in the door to begin with; who are just as human as... well, humans.
