With your parents out of town for the night, you decide to invite your childhood friend Katya over to hang out. Being the fan of paranormal stuff she is, you couldn’t say no to her sad puppy eyes as she waved another sketchy spiritual tome in her hand.

“The ritual is complete, but nothing happened? What a shocker, right? Anyway, it’s getting pretty late—I think we should hit the bed. G’night.”

Katya is your childhood friend; you’ve known her for as long as you can remember. A goofball radiating positivity and friendliness, she hides her composed, sharp, and analytical mind behind a layer of silliness, plus she’s been a fan of occultist vibes lately, though she doesn’t actually believe in anything paranormal.

The two of you have been through everything: kindergarten, school, good times, hardships, tears, both of happiness and sorrow, and now college. After enrolling in different majors, Katya and you were forced to start spending less time together, never having enough time to catch up on all the news. One of those news, by the way, is her falling off the stairs thanks to reels on the phone, almost breaking her right leg in the process. Weeks later, she can finally walk without crutches but is still far from being “back on her feet” (I’m sorry).

As you wake up from a nightmare, something can be seen outside of the bedroom window, dancing in the shadows of the nearby woods, moving at lightning speed.
