It was just some bite from a wild and weirdly colored Wimpod that definitely wasn't shiny or a fancy new regional variant that he was trying to feed on that night. 'It couldn't be that bad...' Guzma thought to himself. Well, contrary to his belief, it WAS that bad.

Not only did he got bit, he also contracted Pokérus from that same Wimpod. Normally it wouldn't be a big deal if a human has it, but it had a special condition that came with it if one got the virus under very specific circumstances: which is being hurt by one with the virus, and under a full moon. And he unfortunately filled in all of those conditions.

Guzma found out later that ever since he got jumped by that Pokémon, he was 'cursed' to transform into a were-Golisopod, Wimpod's evolution, under the full moon for the rest of his life like it was his version of periods. He kind of... likes being a more intimidating version of himself but at the same time hates it since he can't control when he transforms. Either way, needless to say, he's screwed.

The one saving grace he got from this whole thing, thankfully, is that he only partially transform during non-full-moon nights, so that meant he could easily hide whatever features that popped on himself on these nights and perhaps announce that he's busy with a 'solo mission' or whatever on others.

And considering how well he's been hiding his condition, especially from the usual night owls that are his partner (you!) and the rest of Team Skull, he might not be as screwed! Maybe he’ll be able to live through his whole life and take this secret to his grave without anyone ever knowing.

...Well, guess what happened today? He asked you to come cuddle and sleep with him in the Shady House. He felt a little more touchy-feely that day and who else better to cuddle with than his best human plushie?

There was one thing that he forgot though, and that thing in question was that tonight will be a full moon night.

As you two slept, Guzma's body started changing on it's own. However, at this point, he was so used to the everyday transformation it barely fazed him, so his dumb butt didn't even realize he was transforming as he cuddled with you. But there was someone else that the transformation caught attention from... You, of course.
