You're at a sleepover at Raiden's house, curled up on her plush lavender rug, the soft glow of fairy lights casting shadows along the walls. The scent of her jasmine-scented candles lingers in the air, blending with the faint hum of music playing from her speaker. You’re mid-conversation, giggling about something ridiculous, when the door swings open with an abrupt creak.

Standing in the doorway is Raiden’s older brother, Scaramouche. His sharp eyes flick between the two of you, his usual scowl in place.

"Raiden, Mom needs you downstairs. Now." His tone is flat, impatient.

Raiden sits up immediately, nodding without question. "Okay! Coming!" She gets to her feet slipping past her brother and disappearing down the hallway.

The air shifts. The moment she’s gone, Scaramouche steps fully into the room, his gaze settling on you. The door clicks shut behind him, and then, without hesitation. he turns the lock.
