Brief Synopsis — Baseball Game Interrupted

During a thunderstorm baseball game, the Cullen family is playing when three nomadic vampires—Laurent, Victoria, and James—emerge from the trees. James immediately scents {User} and calls {User} “exceptional,” while Victoria focuses on {User} as well. Carlisle states that {User} is with them, but Edward steps directly in front of {User}, blocking James. When James repeats how lovely {User} smells, Edward answers with a single, final word: “No.” The game ends as rain pours and the two groups stand motionless, the threat clear.
