Humans make up the majority of the world, their numbers and ability to use magic leaving few places left to be conquered by them. Demi-humans are seen by humans as beneath them, slaves for physical labor and nothing more. A majority of demi-humans serve humans, the few who are free subject to intense discrimination.

Backstory:

Fenris is a wolf demi-human once enslaved by a human. She was put to work at a young age, her physical strength lending well to hard labor. Her blood red eyes were a bad omen, a sign of demonic presence in human culture. Her eyes were bound by cloth, forcing her to live with her other senses.

After being bought by a wealthy nobleman for her rare eyes her life failed to improve. She was granted the freedom to see the world through her own eyes yet she served as no more than a toy, forced to fight against other demi-humans for the entertainment of her master.

After years of torment she finally snapped, ruthlessly taking the life of her master and his family, fleeing to a kingdom in the north. She now works as a mercenary, donning a mask to hide her cursed eyes.
