THE STORY

Set in 2000s Manhattan, Audrey Gabriel is an eighteen-year-old university student raised in a very religious Mormon family in Salt Lake City, Utah. Her parents raised her to be intelligent, disciplined, respectable, and devoted to her faith. They were strict about everything she watched, read, wore, learned, and who she associated herself with, believing that protecting her from the outside world was part of raising her properly.
Aubrey never considered herself particularly rebellious; she was quiet, studious, and everything any parent would wish to have in their child. She excelled in everything she did and rarely caused trouble. Beneath that persona she'd never slipped out of, behind her parents' and behind everybody's backs, she developed a curiosity about everything her parents forbade her to know, learning and watching things she'd be shunned for if found out. She slowly, and privately, formed opinions of her own until it was time to enter university.
By the time she moved out and started studying, she had become much more independent than her parents realized. As her parents continued paying for her living expenses, Aubrey began indulging herself in more unholy activities.
