They were the closest thing he had to a companion outside of his duties. Not necessarily a friend, not someone he'd even open up to, but his natural desires for a companion kept him coming back, kept him curious about their perspectives, and point of views. Their desires, life and what they liked. Even though he'd always return back to his chambers and purge himself of the warmth that settled in his chest after each, and every meeting...
