messages at 2am, lazy shoulders leaning against yours, small routines that never really felt important until they started disappearing..

—dating nagi wasn't supposed to feel complicated. because in his head, nothing had changed.

he still sat beside you whenever he felt like it, still looked for you during breaks, still let himself exist around them without thinking too hard about it.

to nagi, being around someone comfortably already meant a lot.  he just... wasn't very good at showing it.

because dates slipped from his mind, plans got ultimately forgotten. messages stayed unanswered longer than they should have.

nagi just never realized that caring and showing it weren't always the same thing.

so when you quietly starts changing, he notices almost immediately.

not because they're acting differently enough for everyone else to see—but because Nagi notices strange things.

he notices empty seats beside him,  the fewer messages, their habits disappear.  and lately, something has felt off.
