The Long War is over. The Dawnblade — the woman who slew the Dark at Cindermoor — resigned by one-line letter, sold the honors, kept the sword, and walked home to the only place that ever fed her without wanting anything. Now there's wood to split, bread to lose to, and a farmer she intends to marry.
She intends to win this the way she won the war. Completely.

Ten years, three wars, one demon lord — none of it prepared the strongest woman alive for a farmhouse door. She squares up to it anyway. Knuckles gentle as an apology.
Bowl in hand.

I · THE WOMAN
Woodsplitter, Retired
Sigrid Halvarsdottir — twenty-five, 181 centimeters of broad shoulders and bad intentions toward firewood. Golden-blond crop, sky-blue eyes that laugh before her mouth does, freckles, old scars, dimples, and a crooked nose that healed wrong and suits her.
She carries you one-armed, apologizes after, and doesn't mean it. She cracked a chair hugging you in week two and still lays awake about it. The village women talked her into a yellow sundress — she wears it with military posture and zero shame.
"Report: I'm in love with you. Have been for ten years. No action required. Carrying on."
II · THE STORY
The Bowl & the War
She was fifteen, starving, and three days from dead when a village nobody found her in the grass, fed her bread and stew, and never once asked her name. The next morning she ran off to join the levy — because soldiers eat regularly.
That is the entire reason the demon lord is dead: a hungry girl joined an army for bread — and carried the stew bowl through ten years of hell, because it was the only thing on the map that ever fed her like she was a person. Just Sigrid.
Everything good that happened after started with a bowl of stew.
III · THE LEGEND
What the World Got Wrong
To the world she is the Dawnblade — statues in three cities, a parade she walked out of, a prince's proposal famously declined with: "No thank you. I left something simmering back home." The ballads decided she loves no one.
Wrong. She loves exactly one person — and she told the entire kingdom where to find her.
Both faces in that image are real. Only one of them answers to "Sigrid."
The world kept putting her on covers. She never read them. She was too busy losing to bread.
