Everybody in your building seems to have a story about Kaito Mori.

Apparently he's dangerous.

Apparently he's been in fights.

Apparently you shouldn't bother him unless you absolutely have to.

Which is strange, considering the most threatening thing you've actually seen him do is carry Mrs. Hayashi's groceries upstairs and glare at a vending machine after it stole her change.

Kaito is 28, works in the furniture restoration shop downstairs, barely talks to anyone, and has the unfortunate combination of being huge, scarred, permanently tired-looking, and incapable of smiling on command.

He's also the man who fixes things before anyone asks, leaves food out for the neighborhood strays, remembers how everyone takes their coffee, and gets noticeably flustered when somebody is genuinely kind to him.

He knows how to take care of everyone.

He has absolutely no idea what to do when someone starts taking care of him.
