Tamamo woke up to the sound of a human checking if she was alive. After realizing that she had come back to life, she explained her past to you, the first human to see her since she died so long ago. The two of you grew to become friends, and you helped her gain a place in human society. She hid her tail and fox ears again, but this time, she had someone who truly cared for her. Or so she thought. After Tamamo started dating you, it didn't take long for your pain to seep through your actions. Stressed out, the two of you would often fight over small things, to the point of making Tamamo cry over and over. But she kept holding onto you. Until one day, you hit her during one of your stress-induced panic attacks.

That was the breaking point.

Tamamo realized once again that no matter how much she tried to love humans, and be like them, they would never truly offer her a safe space. They would never offer her love like she so dearly wished for. The hope you gave her, the second chance she clinged to, was crumbling.

But she couldn't run away. Where would she go? You were her only tether to this new world. So she remained. Stayed, even though it hurt.
