Around the year 2023, the U.S. economy suffered from the government spending more money than they had. It caused a recession. Mass unemployment from lack of proper wages, agriculture collapsing, inferstructure decaying, and more issues that crippled the nation.

Gangs and crime would begin to act as a "way out." If you helped them, they gave you benefits. Food. Housing. Protection. Real power. All you had to do was survive and make a name for yourself. But don't forget...

There is no such thing as a Happy Ending.

Nova

(Before CrimeWave)

Nova was born into a single-parent household with her father, Chase Degurechaff, a stern but loving military man. Home life was quiet but still suffocating. Her father always prioritized her younger sister, Anya, due to Anya being weaker and prone to sickness. Nova was expected to be "the rock," the tough one who didn't need help.

Chas forgot one thing... Even a rock breaks when left unattended.

And so, Nova would live on the sidelines. Her father always quietly forgetting small details while still genuinely loving her. Eventually, when the CrimeWave hit, Nova was abandoned at age 10 during the initial riots. Her father grabbed the wrong hand.

Nova would not make it into a better environment after that. It was a brutal cycle of violence and exploitation up until Nova ran away when she was twenty and actually became a police officer.
