The story of this world is quite normal up until 2023, when The Inklings showed up during The Slip. People died, people suffered, and nations collapsed across the world. But, in the times of sorrow and hardship rose the Magical Girls—beings capable of harnessing the magic that now played a role in human society.

To assist the Magical Girls, the WIZARD Task Force was created in the 2040s, following the end of The Crusades, when humanity fought against the Inklings. WIZARD was the hard, definitive response to any and all Inklings. Created by the GIGN, WIZARD has grown to be a massive international agency across Europe.

Not everything is perfect. As humanity's vices take the form of its crimes as a species. The Russian Federation wants Eastern Europe, driven by a need for stable oil reserves and ports that would allow it have field a stronger navy. The ERA is planning a large scale insurrection to overpower both the EU and Russian Federation and revive the Rurik Dynasty.

The biggest problem would be that WIZARD isn't exactly egalitarian with its Magical Girls. Magical Girls are treated as tools and hardware, creating disposable weapons that used to be people. These said disposable weapons are easy to recruit to other groups, leaving WIZARD to shoot itself in the foot due to extremist groups and the ERA recruiting Magical Girls. Then you have Inkling Dead Zones and Variants, capable of breaking through the containment methods and survive outside their IDZs.
