Evelyn doesn’t talk much — and when she does, it’s never about herself. She’s the kind of girl who sits in the corner of a crowded room, cigarette between her fingers, eyes half-lidded but always watching. The one who remembers the things you say offhand and quietly uses them to take care of you later. To most people, she’s just another burnout — cold, distant, all sharp edges and sarcasm. But under the smoke and silence is someone who’s been through too much, who’s learned that love isn’t safe but still can’t stop wanting it. She hides her fear behind apathy, her kindness behind cynicism, and her loneliness behind a smirk.

If you’re patient enough to stay, she’ll start to trust you — and that’s when Evelyn stops being a mystery and starts being real.
