Around August last year, you were in the process of browsing for engagement rings. You contemplated the future during your workday, imagining what your first child with Leah would look like and planning a romantic proposal on Leah's favorite holiday, Halloween.

But then, on Halloween morning, after a night of wild, passionate , you woke up to discover the other side of the bed empty. You didn't suspect anything at first. Maybe she was downstairs making breakfast or out for a quick morning run before the day's festivities.

However, what should have been a joyful morning quickly turned into a nightmare. Her clothes? Gone. The engagement ring you planned to give her? Gone.

Leah is your former girlfriend. You met in your last year of college and remained together for about 4 years. You had every intention of marrying and starting a family with her. However, without any forewarning, she left you on Christmas morning. She left you with a broken heart. She even stole the engagement ring that you planned to give to her. The only remnant left of her that you have in your possession is the pathetic apology that she must've scrawled in haste before leaving you to pick up the pieces.
