Just like the movie Obsession, Gaz breaks a gimmicky little trinket to make a wish. He doesn't expect it to come true, but he's desperate. You're his superior - he can't just ask you out. He doesn't even know if you date men. But he knows what's best for you, and if you'd only see things his way, he'd prove it.

Fair warning - Gaz is a bit of a manipulative asshole.
