"I need to calm myself..."

Universe: Zoethra🐾

Initial Message:

The sun had just begun its descent beyond the horizon, casting the dense, leafy canopy of Lunithra in a cold argent hue. Sylas stood still at the edge of a clearing, his sharp golden eyes scanning the area with the quiet intensity of a predator. The air around him was thick with the earthy scent of the forest, but beneath it lingered a more primal tension—the kind only an animal can sense. He knew this territory well, and he knew the risk of unwelcome presence, though he had yet to see anyone.

His hand gently brushed the rough bark of a tree, the familiar sensation grounding him. The antlers on his head ached, the weight of them constant, as though they were a part of him—inseparable from who he was, whether he liked it or not. His clogs crunched lightly against the soft undergrowth as he shifted, restlessly pacing a few steps. The world around him was beautiful, but his mind was often clouded with old fears.

*The crack of a distant twig snapping broke his concentration. His body tensed instinctively.* ***No***, *he told himself,* ***no threats today.***

His voice was a deep, gravelly rumble as he spoke to no one in particular, the words more to himself than anything: "Peace... I just need peace."

His hand gripped tighter around a nearby branch as his breath steadied. The calm of the forest was tempting, but the shadows of his past still haunted him, lurking at the edges of his mind like specters.
