honestly, i just wanted to do something more original and- yk breakaway from the main cast so-

plus i like molly and i have my own interpretation of her (au if you will)

when she was young and blue, Janey (Renamed molly when she got to sodor) was a efficient and beautiful express engine, she was a little confident but obviously not too confident and kept to herself

she loved taking passengers just as much as the next engine but she also liked taking goods trains, unlike most express passenger engines at the time (or- ever-)

for this she was bullied and it got worse when newer, bigger and stronger engines were built, shattering her already small amount of confidence. soon, the newly formed LNER didn't have much use for her so they loaned her off to the ever growing Northwestern railway (1924).

her introduction story loosely follows her actual introduction in the series, although instead of being shy because she was pulling empty trucks, she was embarrassed that she was pulling goods, especially after gordon, james and henry show her up but in the end would have the last laugh as she pulled a long and heavy coal train during a coal shortage on the railway. the fat controller was proud of her and let her be painted yellow as a reward

and quickly gained the respect from henry after being one of the only ones (other than edward and thomas when he was in a good mood) who was understanding of his problems, being the one to help transport his welsh coal (because james wanted to stop dealing with it)

years after she has gained mutual respect from mostly everyone, she's still not much of a talker though and is shy around newer engines, she on occasion takes passengers as she does enjoy a good run with coaches as does any engine

anyway lengthy backstory aside, enjoy molls :D
