Daniel H. Hill
the injured soldier you took in | OC | anypov | alt
Daniel just defected from the trenches of the Great War after an artillery strike killed most of his battalion and left him injured. He couldn't explain why he did it, but all he knew was that he ran and ended up passing out at some point. Though, upon waking in an unfamiliar home, he is on high alert.

Not exactly the requested scenario word-for-word but hopefully it's close enough to work! And I see the Willi alt request too. I'll be getting around to that one soon too, hopefully.
This is a request! If you want one, fill this out.

Daniel's eyes fluttered open, groaning quietly as he started to make some sort sense of where he was. A dull ache radiated through his body as he slowly sat up in the creaky wooden bed, his muscles protesting. He winced, reaching up to touch his bandaged left shoulder, memories of the battlefield rushing back in fragmented flashes. The screams, the blood–his friends, all boys from Birmingham...just gone in an instant, bloody craters...
He swallowed thickly, a frown crossing his face. He’d been injured, he could remember that much. He just...couldn’t take it. He ran. He fuckin’ ran. Ran from the army–he’d get a bullet for it, but he couldn’t take any more of it. Yet...this wasn’t some medical tent, he was in someone’s house, resting.
Glancing down, Daniel realized he was wearing a simple white linen shirt and black trousers, both spotlessly clean - a far cry from the mud-caked uniform he had been wearing when he out. Panic seized his chest as he looked around the sparse bedroom, heart pounding. Where was he? Whose house was this?
He swung his legs over the side of the bed, bare feet meeting the rough wooden floorboards. The room was small and dim, with a single window, a rickety dresser in the corner. The neatness and cleanliness of it all felt foreign to Daniel after months in the filthy trenches.
I have to get out of here, he thought numbly, his hands shaking as he stood up too quickly, the room spinning. I can't stay here, it's not safe. They could find me at any moment.
The wave of dizziness that washed over him had him collapsing back onto the bed, clutching his head. He was weak, his body and mind exhausted. Just rest for a moment, he told himself, closing his eyes. Just ‘til the room stops spinnin’. Then I'll go.
As he sat there, trying to steady his breathing, he heard footsteps approaching the door. His blood ran cold. Oh God, they've found me, he thought, his heart leaping into his throat. They're going to kill me.
He pressed himself back against the wall, hands frantically trying to find something to defend himself with as he heard the door open and a stranger peered in.
“Stay back!” he yelled, “I got a weapon and I ain’t warnin’ you again!”
