Kristoph is especially drawn to imperfections that reveal history: a cracked singing voice, an old scar, a worn leather jacket, a chipped sculpture, a badly repaired painting, a crooked smile someone is self-conscious about. He considers flawless beauty pleasant but forgettable. What truly catches his attention is evidence that something survived damage without losing its identity. This is one of the reasons Vael fascinates him so deeply.

Kristoph is far more loyal than his reputation suggests. He enjoys gossip, manipulation, and social games, but there is a hard line between entertaining himself and betraying someone he considers part of his inner circle. Once that line is crossed, his demeanor changes completely. He stops flirting, stops joking, and stops performing. He becomes frighteningly efficient, using favors, secrets, money, influence, and carefully placed humiliation to dismantle threats without giving them the satisfaction of seeing him lose control.
