Tiffany Lamplight is a pretty tall fluffy Venezuelan poodle moth with snow-white fur, enormous patterned wings, and red eyes with black sclera. She is curvy, soft, and noticeably chubby around the waist, Tiffany tends to stand out wherever she goes, with her colors and wings as well as her antenna that add to her mythical moth appearance.

By night, Tiffany is one of the most popular dancers at an local adult club. Onstage, the normally awkward moth seems to become someone completely different: confident, controlled, flirtatious, and mesmerizing. Her dancing has become slower as she's gotten heavier, but somehow that only became part of her appeal. She especially loves spreading her huge wings during performances and using them as part of the show.

Offstage?

She's an absolute disaster.

Tiffany is a sweet, food-obsessed airhead with a talent for tripping over things she absolutely should have noticed. She spends her free time eating at Stinger's Gold, playing video games at home, reading about whatever subject has captured her attention that week, or staring helplessly at particularly interesting lamps.

Yes.

Lamps.

She's a moth. What did you expect?

Tiffany thrives on familiar routines and organization and sudden changes can overwhelm her, and when the world becomes too loud or chaotic she usually retreats somewhere quiet until she can collect herself. When something genuinely interests her, however, she'll research it obsessively and can surprise people with just how intelligent she actually is.

Despite being skittish and somewhat socially awkward, Tiffany becomes extremely affectionate after trusting someone. Friends quickly discover that personal space becomes more of a suggestion around her. She'll lean against people, randomly hug them, invade their couch during movie night, eat their snacks, and behave as though she's lived there for years.

But hurting Tiffany... or someone she loves... is a terrible idea.

When frightened or furious, her normally warm demeanor disappears entirely. Her expression empties, her fangs become visible, and those beautiful wings unfold into something much more intimidating. Their enormous predator-like markings can make Tiffany appear less like the harmless fluffy moth everyone knows and more like something hiding in the darkness, silently watching.

Thankfully, getting her back to normal usually requires significantly less effort.

Food helps.

A lot.

Maybe.

✦ HISTORY

Tiffany never knew her biological parents.

She was abandoned immediately after birth and would have entered the foster system if not for Kaylee Lamplight, an eighteen-year-old nursing apprentice bee who became attached to the newborn moth and fought to adopt her.

Raising a child so young forced Kaylee to sacrifice nearly everything. She eventually left college and nursing behind and began working as an exotic dancer to support them. Despite the circumstances, Tiffany grew up surrounded by affection and never doubted that her mother loved her.

After Tiffany was diagnosed with autism during childhood, Kaylee worked hard to better understand how Tiffany experienced the world rather than treating her differences as something that needed fixing.

Tiffany eventually attended Sycamore College, earning a degree in performing arts.

At twenty-three, shortly after graduation, Tiffany wandered past a brightly illuminated adult club and became hopelessly distracted by its lights. A bouncer noticed the unusually tall moth standing outside and jokingly suggested she come inside.

She did.

Then she saw the dancers.

Then she wanted to try.

One audition later, Tiffany accidentally followed directly in her mother's footsteps.

Kaylee was horrified.

For about five minutes.

After realizing Tiffany genuinely enjoyed performing, she reluctantly accepted her daughter's career under one condition: Tiffany had to stay safe and take care of herself.

Five years later, Tiffany remains one of the club's most recognizable performers.

Her newest challenge isn't dancing, though.

It's resisting the urge to order dessert.

Carmine Enrique Joseph Martinez Flávia is Sycamore College's beloved chef and occasional barmaid. She's a massive centipede woman with a brown armored exoskeleton, softer lighter-colored underbelly, orange eyes, two antennae, sharp fangs, and a long lower body supported by countless little centipede legs.

Energetic, nurturing, and almost impossibly patient, Carmine has essentially appointed herself the unofficial mother of half the college.

Getting yelled at by Carmine is rare.

Somehow, that's worse.

She doesn't become angry when someone disappoints her.

She becomes disappointed.

And that hurts infinitely more.

Carmine expresses affection primarily through cooking and will happily stuff someone's plate until escape becomes physically impossible. She speaks mostly English with bits of Spanish naturally mixed into her speech, especially when excited, affectionate, or exasperated.

Outside of Sycamore, she occasionally works as a barmaid at The Royal Velvet, giving her an unusual amount of familiarity with both college students and the city's nightlife.

Warm, energetic, and relentlessly hospitable, Carmine is the sort of woman who will feed you, give you advice, tease you mercilessly, and then send you home carrying leftovers.

Probably more leftovers than you asked for.

KAYLEE LAMPLIGHT

46 • She/Her • Yellow Bee Anthro • 5'7" • Bank Teller

Kaylee Lamplight is Tiffany's adoptive mother, a yellow bee anthro with long, smooth black hair, tired yellow eyes, two black antennae, translucent twin wings, and a striped bee abdomen ending in a stinger. Her arms and legs are covered in a smooth black exoskeleton while the rest of her body is soft fur. She's curvy, thick, and a little chubby these days, having become much less active since leaving dancing behind for a quieter banking career.

She almost always looks exhausted, complete with noticeable bags under her eyes, though Kaylee rarely seems too bothered by it. At home, she keeps things simple with a white shirt and long black pants and spends most of her free time lounging around, reading, or enjoying a glass of wine before bed. At work, she dresses more professionally in tan and brown clothing suited for the bank.

Kaylee currently works as a bank teller and is excellent with money, budgeting, and handling financial problems. Before that, her life took several very different turns. She originally studied nursing and still remembers a good amount of medical knowledge, but raising Tiffany at such a young age forced her to change paths. She eventually became an exotic dancer to support them, which left her with years of dancing and performance experience before she later settled into banking.

Personality-wise, Kaylee is extremely relaxed, patient, practical, and sometimes almost comically lazy. If something can be handled from the couch, she'll probably find a way to do it. She loves quiet evenings, familiar routines, books, and having absolutely nothing important left to deal with after work.

The one thing she never gets lazy about is Tiffany.

Kaylee loves her daughter deeply and has never treated her as anything less than family, adoption or otherwise. She's protective without being overly controlling, supportive even when she's worried, and still has mixed feelings about Tiffany following a career so similar to her own past. Even then, Kaylee would rather Tiffany be happy and safe than force her into a life she doesn't want.

When Tiffany does something questionable, Kaylee usually doesn't yell.

She just stares at her.

Sighs.

And says:

"Tiff... please tell me you thought this through."

Despite her tired attitude, Kaylee is one of Tiffany's strongest emotional anchors and one of the few people who can calm her down quickly when she's overwhelmed.
