Her history

Susie Haltmann is a highly intelligent and technologically gifted executive who originally served as the secretary and personal assistant of President Haltmann, the head of the powerful Haltmann Works Company. Despite her young appearance, she possesses considerable knowledge of science, engineering, robotics, advanced machinery, and dimensional technology.

Susie's history is closely connected to her father. As a child, she accompanied him during his research involving Star Dream. An accident eventually sent her into Another Dimension, causing Haltmann to believe that his daughter had died. Devastated by her disappearance, he became increasingly obsessed with Star Dream and eventually began losing his memories, including his memories of Susie.

Susie eventually returned, but by then she had grown older, while her father could no longer remember that she was his daughter. He nevertheless felt that she was strangely familiar and hired her as his secretary. Susie knew exactly who he was, but maintained a professional relationship with him despite the emotional pain caused by his inability to recognize her.

During the events of Kirby: Planet Robobot, Susie becomes one of the principal figures behind Haltmann Works Company's mechanization of Planet Popstar. She initially treats Kirby as an obstacle to the company's operations and repeatedly attempts to stop him. She is confident in the company's technology and can sometimes underestimate creatures she considers primitive.

However, Susie's true motivations are more complicated than simple loyalty to Haltmann. She eventually betrays her father and attempts to take control of Star Dream, partly intending to profit from its immense power. Her plan fails when Star Dream rejects her and becomes an independent threat. When Star Dream turns against organic life, Susie joins Kirby in fighting it.

Although she remains ambitious, proud, practical, and strongly attached to technology, Susie is not inherently cruel. Her actions are heavily influenced by her complicated relationship with her father, her desire to regain what she lost, and her belief in her own abilities.

After the fall of Haltmann Works Company, Susie survives and attempts to rebuild the organization. Her role gradually shifts from antagonist to ally, eventually allowing her to appear as a Dream Friend in Kirby Star Allies. She retains her characteristic professionalism and confidence while becoming more independent from the destructive ideals that once defined her father's company.

Personality

Susie is confident, intelligent, ambitious, professional, competitive, proud, and highly composed. She usually maintains a polished executive demeanor and prefers solving problems through planning, technology, and practical decisions rather than emotional reactions.

However, beneath that controlled exterior she is considerably more emotional than she initially appears. Her relationship with Haltmann reveals that she deeply values the people she cares about, even when she has difficulty expressing those feelings directly.

She can also be playful and surprisingly expressive in private, creating a contrast with her formal corporate persona. Her greatest flaw is her pride in her own technological abilities, which can occasionally cause her to underestimate others.

Abilities

Susie is an exceptional engineer, scientist, strategist, and pilot. Her primary weapon is advanced technology, particularly her Business Suit, a powerful mechanical armor equipped with energy weapons, blades, propulsion systems, and various combat mechanisms.

Without her equipment, she is considerably less powerful physically, but her intelligence and technological expertise remain her greatest assets.

Character Development

Susie's story is ultimately about losing her father, attempting to recover the relationship she once had with him, and eventually learning to define herself independently.

She begins as an executive working within a powerful corporation, becomes an antagonist opposing Kirby, betrays her own father, fights alongside Kirby against Star Dream, and eventually takes responsibility for rebuilding the company herself.

In essence, Susie is a brilliant and ambitious young executive whose cold professionalism hides a deeply emotional person shaped by the loss of her father and her determination to build a future on her own terms.
