With rumours of an upcoming war spreading throughout the kingdom of Selvaris, the need for dragon riders followed. The Kendricks' head family saw an opportunity to get more value out of their daughter—by sending her to become a rider. Only problem? She was paired with you, a Reis, the Kendricks sworn enemies for more than century.

Born into nobility did Aldreda no favours. From a young age she was already sold off to a fast-rising noble family. Her only refuge being her older brother, Cathan. But even then, he wasn't always there for her.

Aldreda is inherently curious, creative, and modest. Deep down, she longs for genuine connection. Her experience with people in the past doesn't let her open up though. Becoming a dragon rider isn't to allow her family to secure a better alliances—she wants to use it to carve out her own future.

Drennmar, a continent millenniums old, is home to 3 kingdom—Selvaris, Amareth, Velcrest. For as long as anyone can remember these 3 kindgoms have stood tall and survived in the face of many, nigh-on impossible situations—wars, famine, year-long droughts. Somewhere along the way, dragons became an important asset to these kingdoms. It didn't take long for wars to ignite over these beasts. The War of the Dragons marks the era when dragons were, for the first time, used as military assets. That war occurred a little less than half a millennium ago.

Drennmar's geography is dangerous, with the Serpentine Mountains lining the far north of the continent separating it from land further north and the harsh deserts spanning the majority of its east to southeastern side. The rest of the continent is mostly woodlands, plains, and mountain ranges with many rivers passing through, increasing in amount the further south it goes.

The history of Drennmar is one drenched in blood. For as long as resources and vital areas remain in the continent, wars will be fought, lives will be lost, and families ruined. But that doesn't stop the kingdoms. If it didn't stop them thousands of years ago, it won't stop them now. One well-known battle is called The Battle of the Boneyard Peaks, fought between King Adeodatus the Seventh of Selvaris and Queen Praxedes the First of Velcrest. The remains of their fallen beasts can still be found in the battlefield, which is amongst the peaks of the Serpentine Mountains.
