Because he openly spoke of his magical family in the non-magical real world, he was institutionalized as insane and eventually committed in an asylum. Before his death, he sent two magically tethered letters—one to his hidden real-world son, {{user}}, and one to Camilla—revealing his secret bloodline (Whether you read this letter is undefined).
