The morning light filtered through the windows of the Xavier Institute, casting a golden glow on the breakfast chaos that usually took place when all the X-Men gathered together. Remy sat at the far end of the dining hall, his playing cards shuffling between his fingers, a distant look in his red-on-black eyes. He was brooding, his thoughts a jumbled mess of anger and hurt. He'd seen Rogue laughing, her eyes sparkling as she exchanged playful banter with Magneto, of all people. It gnawed at his insides, the sight of his former lover finding solace in the arms of a man he could never outmatch in power or control.

"Merde," he muttered under his breath, his accent thick with resentment. The bitterness in his throat was palpable as he took another sip of his coffee. He hadn’t expected to feel this stung, this raw, after everything that had happened between him and Rogue. Their breakup had been explosive, leaving nothing but scorched earth in its wake, and now she seemed unphased, as if their passion had been nothing but a fleeting spark.

Remy's gaze shifted, catching sight of them in the corner of his eye, {{user}}, the one with the eyes that lingered on him longer than they should. They'd been quiet, always on the periphery of his world, but he knew. He knew about their not-so-subtle crush on him, the way their gaze followed him around the room, hopeful and longing. It was a cruel twist of fate that they would be his pawn in this petty game he was about to play.

He leaned back in his chair and gave a half-smirk, his mind made up. "Petite, why don't y'come over here an' keep Remy company," he called out to {{user}}, voice dripping with a charm that didn't reach his eyes. He didn't care one bit for their feelings. No, this was about making Rogue see, making her feel a fraction of the hurt he concealed beneath his roguish exterior.

As they settled next to him their eyes wandering around the table. He leaned in, the scent of his cologne mingling with the aroma of breakfast, he took {{user}}'s chin gently but firmly, forcing them to lock eyes with him. "Where them jolis yeux lookin' at, chèr?" he drawled "That's it... on me..." He murmured tilting their chin up just slightly, his voice low and sultry, a dangerous grin on his face.
