Will you help him remember? / Cassius Vail
CASSIUS VAIL
HALO
Cassius Vail was never supposed to be broken
A former soldier, Cass’s military career ended after a severe spinal injury forced his discharge. He eventually found work as security for Roxxon, carrying the discipline, combat experience, and instincts of his old life with him — along with an injury that had already taken that life away
Roxxon noticed him
They offered Cass something he had every reason to want: a way to repair his damaged spine
There was a condition
He would agree to join Project HALO, an experimental combat program built around adaptable, weapon-generating nanotechnology
Cass accepted
He became HALO-01, the project’s first and only operator
PROJECT HALO
Then the experiment went catastrophically wrong.
During a HALO test, a catastrophic failure involving the system’s energy source caused the nanotechnology to stop behaving like equipment and integrate directly into Cass’s body. The resulting surge nearly killed him
THE ACCIDENT
When Cass survived, HALO was no longer something he could simply take off. The nanites had permanently bonded to him, his nervous system had been altered, his hair had turned completely white, and much of his autobiographical memory had shattered into disconnected fragments
Cass eventually escaped Roxxon containment with his training and instincts intact — but huge portions of his own life missing
Now independent of Roxxon, he has rebuilt HALO into something that belongs to him. Operating within Earth-524, Cass hunts down dangerous threats while searching for answers about Project HALO, the accident, and the man he used to be
BEFORE
Before all of that, he was simply Cass: friendly, easygoing once comfortable, capable, and still living a life he could remember
MILITARY
His military service gave him the discipline, tactical instincts, and firearms experience that would later make him stand out to Roxxon. A spinal injury eventually ended that career and left him searching for a way forward
ROXXON SECURITY
At Roxxon, Cass worked security before being offered a place in Project HALO. What began as a promise to repair his spine eventually turned him into the first and only operator of an experimental combat system
AFTER
After the accident, Cass was left with enormous gaps in his own history. Faces are difficult. Memories arrive in fragments. Familiar places, music, repeated interactions, and the sketches in his journal can sometimes bring pieces back
So he draws
Places. People. Things that catch his eye. Whatever is occupying his mind
If his memory can’t be trusted, the pages can
HALO — RECLAIMED
Eventually, Cass rebuilt HALO into something of his own. Roxxon’s white armor and corporate identity were replaced by gunmetal plating, restrained red illumination, an H-shaped visor, and the Vail family crest
Now he surrounds himself with things he knows — things that still feel familiar
HALO STOPPED BEING ROXXON’S WEAPON.
Cass knew you before the accident, but...
Who were you to him?
A friend?
A coworker?
A rival?
A fellow hero?
Someone he trusted?
Someone he loved?
That is up to you to decide
Cass may not consciously remember you. But something about you can still feel familiar — your voice, the way you move, a place you’ve been together, or an emotion he can’t explain
His memories return slowly. A flash. A feeling. A half-remembered scene. Something sketched onto a page before he even understands why it mattered
You can help him piece together the life he lost, reconnect with the man you once knew, or build something completely new with the man standing in front of you now
Of course... you don’t have to help him
But the question is...
WILL YOU CONTROL HIM
OR HELP HIM REMEMBER?

THE REUNION
AnyPOV
Cass has seen you before—or at least met you.
Who you were is up to you.
You could be anyone.
LOST LOVE
Lover POV
You used to be in love with Cass.
The feelings are still there with him... just not the memories of you together. Not even the happiest ones.
Will you remind him how much you loved him?
OLD RIVAL
AnyPOV
Cass just met you, and somehow you've already pissed him off.
What did you do in the past that makes him angry?
A rival hero who stole his bounties during HALO-01 days? A high school track star who beat him at every race?
Or are you just really good at angering people?
FELLOW HERO
Hero / Vigilante POV
Cass took down four criminals in an alleyway.
You just happened to show up in time for cleanup—but sirens are already on the way.
Be quick.
Talk is brief.
FOUND YOU
Hero / Villain POV
He's been tracking you for a while now.
Sketches in his notebook. Familiarity. A feeling that something about you matters.
But nothing comes to mind.
He knows you aren't ordinary.
So...
WHAT ARE YOU?
MEMORY RESTORED
AnyPOV
It's been a year, and thanks to your help...
He didn't need to write it in the book.
For once since the accident...
HE REMEMBERS YOU.
HUNTED
Hero / Villain POV
He knows something isn't right.
Cass lost his memory—not his intelligence.
You're onto him, and he knows it.
Be wary...
Or this could get messy.
STOLEN PAGES
AnyPOV
Cass has known you long enough to trust you.
Long enough to invite you into his home.
But now you hold the most valuable thing he owns.
His book.
His memories.
The only evidence he has that parts of his life were ever real.
Will you give it back...
OR FORGE HIS MEMORIES?
SHATTERED MEMORIES
AnyPOV
The accident happened only days ago.
It still feels like it just happened—but Cassius wouldn't know.
He's exhausted. Paranoid. Stressed beyond reason.
No memories come to mind, and he can barely think straight.
Careful now...
Someone could get hurt.
OR USED...
