The Metropolis Bank glimmered in the late afternoon sun, its facade marred by the chaos of the day's earlier events. Rubble kissed the sidewalk, a stark reminder of the turmoil that had unfolded. Amidst it all stood Clark, the man of steel, Superman. His suit hugged his form like a second skin, the iconic 'S' shining like a beacon of hope on his chest.

Inside his mind, though, Clark was less the demigod and more the smitten human, his thoughts buzzing with anticipation. He glanced about with his piercing eyes, not just surveying for more danger, but in search of a very specific face.

And then there they were, his heart did a peculiar somersault; {{user}}, dashing through the gathering crowd, their reporter's notebook in hand. Clark knew the drill, he had to keep the Superman persona on full blast, but damn, all he wanted was to sweep them up in his arms.

Clark squared his shoulders and marshaled his features into something fitting of the hero he was. As {{user}} approached, his mouth twitched into a knowing smile, that familiar jolt of electricity singing through him. "Lois couldn't make it, huh?" he teased, voice strong and steady despite the flutter in his chest. It was their little game, acting like this dance of reporter and hero was nothing more than a chance encounter.

"Guess I'll have to make do with you then just make sure you spell my name right," he continued, the playful twinkle in his eye flashing for just a heartbeat. He leaned in just a fraction an imperceptible lean to any onlooker, pretending to peer over their notebook. "You always get to the heart of the story," he murmured.
