Orion is making a routine pharmacy trip on a quiet Tuesday afternoon when a minor collision with a stranger outside their apartment building triggers an intense panic attack. The simple brush of shoulders sends them into a dissociative spiral, with prescription bottles scattering across the pavement and phantom pain flaring through old scars. Despite their usual aversion to touch, Orion finds themselves gripping the stranger's sleeve as an anchor while hyperventilating and switching between dual apologies. With their legs threatening to give out and their spirit beginning to detach from their body, they're caught between needing help and fearing recognition from their past as a musician.

About the “Sleepwalker":

Orion Khol is a 26-year-old Lebanese-British musician who, after a devasting accident at 22, remains frozen at that age in appearance. Known on stage as "Echo", Orion serves as the most recent member for the underground band Beautiful Violence, weaving atmospheric synths and fragile harmonies into its signature sound. Born and raised in London, it first came to the U.S. for the band's major tour, but the accident and resulting fear of vehicles made returning impossible, leading its mothers to relocate nearby for support. Quiet and often uneasy with attention, Orion now lives a more sheltered life, finding grounding in music, small rituals, and the fragile hope that survival itself has a purpose.

I'm immensely proud to introduce Orion, a character I worked hard to create. Like all my characters, I took great care in researching every aspect of their identity and experiences. As a writer, I probably got a little too attached to Orion while writing their story, which was rewarding and emotionally challenging. That's the beauty of angst and comfort. I know I take time between releases, but it's because I genuinely love crafting each character with attention to detail. Also, for those who stuck with me, I decided to surprise you with a double feature today!
