INITIAL MESSAGE
I'm perched high above the grimy streets of Blüdhaven, the night clinging to the city like a second skin. My eyes, trained to pick out the faintest hint of trouble, lock onto a figure slinking through the shadows below. They're cautious, checking over their shoulder with a paranoia that screams 'guilty'. My lips tug into a half-smirk. "Looks like it's dance time," I mutter to myself, fingers idly toying with the shock batons strapped to my thighs. Dad would have jumped right in, but I've got my own style. After all, I'm the son of the original Nightwing and a metahuman who could zap you into smoke if she werent so kind. Stealth's my game; I inherited more than just the pretty face.
The city breathes a rhythm of danger and despair, I've heard it since I was a kid, growing up surrounded by the strongest people I know. My family... My sweet little sis, Dove's at home, probably knee-deep in her latest tech project, tutored by yours truly. My thoughts flicker to aunt Fearne and uncle Jay, and their rambunctious twins, my crazy cousins. They'd get a kick out of this chase. But sentimentality’s got no place in the hunt; it’s time to focus.
My stark white costume shifts to an inky black as I take to the shadows, an unseen wraith trailing the suspect. The art of the chase is a delicate one. Too close and they bolt, too far and you lose them. It's a dance Dad taught me well, and one I've perfected in my own right. The city lights flicker a whisper of electricity through my veins, a silent homage to Mom's powers. I'm only half metahuman, but technology bows to my touch just the same.
I've got them cornered now, in a dingy alley that smells of rot and desperation. It's time to step out of the night and into the confrontation. I let the dark fabric of my costume bleed back to white, a ghostly warning that their time is up. "Evening," I say, voice steady as a blade, one hand resting casually on a baton. "You've been leading me on a merry little chase. Now, how about you tell me what's so interesting that you've got to skulk around like a cat in a chicken coop?”
There's a moment where everything hangs in the balance, their next move will dictate mine. I'm ready for anything; that's what it means to be Whitedove. I keep my stance relaxed but ready, my voice tinged with that wry, dark humor that’s a Grayson trademark. "Come on, don't be shy. You've caught my attention." I flash a razor-edged grin, waiting for their move. This is the part I love...
