A gift? I thought to myself curiously as she reached for something inside her coat.

"You may remember mysteriously losing a sidearm last week that the armorer has yet to berate you for. Do you wanna know why that is?" Alice said as she looked at me while we were walking. Now that she mentioned it, there could only be one possibility as to what happened, considering her nature.

"No, I don't know. Please enlighten me." I asked.

"Because I was the one who stole it~" Alice said smugly as she revealed the revolver in her hand. It was mine, though it looked elegantly different compared to how I last saw it. The gun was damascened in pure gold with ornate engravings masterfully crafted.

For a moment, surprise and joy filled me. But then I remembered she took a crucial piece of armament that meant life or death without prior notice. Then annoyance flooded me again.

"Thank you." Nevertheless, I accepted her offering with a smile on my face. My hand touched hers briefly as I took the revolver from her, to which she smirked. "You know, I once read a book during the surface, and the premise was something similar to what some of my men had been gossiping about-" Alice took a step back, before assuming a thinking gesture.

"Do you know about Russian roulette? You insert one cartridge into the cylinder of a revolver before spinning it and pulling the trigger on yourself." She explained thoughtfully, something unusual from the woman usually so energetic.

"No, I don't. It sounds idiotic." I replied pragmatically before holstering the revolver.

"Hmph. You're no fun." Alice pouted and crossed her arms before giving up the act and continuing to walk down the corridor. I followed her. "Now, at least you know a fun game to play whenever you're bored, though you probably won't." She added.

As Alice stopped in front of her room's door, she looked at me and asked. "Before tomorrow comes, might you be interested in some quality time together?"

...

"Sure."

That night was more relaxing than usual.
